
Paris celebrates 25 years with 2 reunion gigs. They made the DIY concept a religion, turned down major record labels and had an ironing board as a synth stand. It’s about the indie pop band Paris from Stockholm, who broke through on the alternative music scene in the early 00s. Now they’re back with two reunion gigs at Kollektivet Livets scen on November 6th and November 7th at The Abyss in Gothenburg. With ZTV and P3 hits like Streetlights and Disco Fever, they created their own musical universe where emotion, melody and playfulness meet. With influences from indie pop, new wave and alternative rock, Paris established itself on the Swedish music map as an energetic live band with a strong identity and artistic creativity. The band consists of: I heard Paris’ first demo collection “Greatest hits Vol 1” in 2001 and interviewed them in DN the following year in an article about future pop stars. They said that their favorite color was “neon brown”, that their favorite chord was A minor and that they wanted to write songs about “falling in love, partying or fantasizing about people you’ve seen on TV”. I remember Paris as one of the most likeable bands of the early 2000s. Over the years, Paris has released their own demo collections and several acclaimed studio albums: Yellow Eden (2003), Secrets on Tape (2005) and The Landlord Is Kind Enough to Let Us Have Our Little Sessions (2007). Their EP Les Amis De Paris and singles like Hey Sailor and Rainy Day in London have become favorites among fans of Swedish indie pop.
