Stephen Wilson Jr.'s journey from the rural valleys of southern Indiana to Nashville, Tennessee has been winding and full of detours. He has been a finalist in Indiana’s state Golden Gloves boxing championships, worked as a scientist, and served as the lead guitarist and songwriter in an indie rock band. In 2016, he left his nine-to-five laboratory job and signed a publishing deal with BMG Nashville, where his almost alchemical songwriting ability quickly made an impression. This led to his songs being recorded by artists such as Caitlyn Smith, Old Dominion, Tim McGraw, Sixpence None the Richer, and Leigh Nash. In 2023, Wilson Jr. had his big breakthrough. He signed with Big Loud Records and
